OpenLazarus for manufacturers: AI teammates for the office around the plant
A platform and an architecture team for the quoting, purchasing and supplier work that surrounds production. Strong where the delays come from email and phone, and not built for the machines themselves.

OpenLazarus is a company-owned operating system with AI teammates that each have an email address and a phone number. For manufacturers, its pitch is the office around the plant rather than the machines in it1.
Best for: Manufacturers that want AI teammates to run the office work around the plant: quotes, purchasing, supplier and customer mail, phones and quality paperwork.
Not the right fit for: Plants whose main need is machine vision, process control or a large plant-floor data program.
What OpenLazarus does for manufacturers
Its manufacturing page describes modules for jobs, machines, material (with heat numbers and mill certificates), quality (non-conformance reports and complaints), quotes, customers and phones, with example AI teammates for scheduling, purchasing, quality and quotes1. It does not replace the ERP: it reads jobs, routings and inventory from the ERP and writes back what changes. Where machines already report their status, its engineers connect them. Where they don't, a tablet update stands in.
Each teammate works within limits you set. The example given is a material order over $20,000, or a change to a promised ship date, that waits for a person's approval, and every action is logged. OpenLazarus also runs a yearly AI-Architect engagement that maps how the company works and builds the platform with it2. Hosting is managed, can be moved to your own cloud and has an EU option3.
The manufacturing page uses an invented example company to show the product. It is not a client, and none of its figures are results. OpenLazarus has no published manufacturing case studies yet.

Strengths and limits
Strengths
- Each AI teammate has its own email address and phone number and works on the same records as your staff.
- You decide what runs automatically and what needs a person’s approval, and every action is logged.
- Publishes prices for hosting and engineering support, which no consulting firm in this guide does.
- Managed hosting that you can move to your own cloud, with an EU hosting option.
Limits
- No published manufacturing case studies yet.
- Not a machine-vision, controls or process-optimization firm. Machines are connected only where they already report their status.
- Does not replace an ERP. It reads jobs, routings and inventory from yours and writes back changes.
- Engineering support is only available when the platform is hosted by OpenLazarus.
Choose another option if: Your priority is inline inspection, predictive maintenance or process control on the plant floor. Sciotex, Addepto or Capgemini fit that work better.
Pricing
Published: managed hosting from $150 a month, engineering support from $4,500 a month and a 5.5% fee on AI credits. The AI-Architect consultancy is priced per engagement.
Questions to ask OpenLazarus
- Which of our office tasks would a teammate take on first, and what would it need access to?
- How do approvals and limits work for purchase orders and ship-date changes?
- What happens to our data and the platform if we stop working with you?
- Can we run a fixed-scope pilot in one department before a yearly engagement?
